We’ve just sponsored Jeanie Davison, an Australian film-maker, who is trekking from Ouarzazate into the Sahara (and back, we hope!) for Unicef.
Unicef helps support children’s health and education in Morocco, and is working to reduce child mortality rates. Just £19 buys 100 measles vaccinations – important in a country where more than 80 children aged under 5 die every day from preventable conditions.
If you’d like to support Jeanie’s trek, please click here.
The first edition of the Marrakech Art Fair will be held from 8 to 11 October 2010 (with a preview on 8 October) at the Es Saadi Palace.
Forty international art galleries are pleased to invite professionals and passionate art collectors to present their recent discoveries during a 4-day event.
Modern art and contemporary art will be high on the agenda. Works of art and creations from the 20th and 21st centuries.
…where will it end, we ask ourselves?
Just three to four years ago Marrakech airport had one terminal. Now it has a fabulous main terminal building which dwarfs the original.
And now there’s a tender out for the construction of a third one – along with a second terminal at Fez!
Apparently by 2013 Marrakech will be able to handle 10 million passengers a year – more than double its current capacity.
Of course if you’re heading to Essaouira you can also use Agadir – or our local airport…still waiting for routes other than Paris/Casablanca!
Book for at least a week in September and we’ll give you 15% off! Or shorter stays (3 night minimum) available with 10% discount.
Dar 91 is available between 2 and 10 September, and Next Door is available between 13 and 22 September.
Next Door @ Dar 91 is our lovely new apartment – now taking bookings. To see photos please visit our Facebook page. For more information please email us on info@moroccoholidayhome.com.
We are delighted to report that we are now featured in the Alastair Sawday Guide to Morocco. Read our online entry here or buy the book through Amazon here (we’re in the 2010 edition, due out 1 March). If you don’t already know the Sawday guides, they’re well worth a look…full of lovely houses run by great people (even if we do say so ourselves!).
We would like to wish everyone a fantastic and peaceful 2010
